Chappell receiving more Big Ten looks

Shaker Heights (Ohio) University School wide receiver Justin Chappell is off to another great start this fall and is hoping to turn his on-field success into more college scholarships. The 5-11, 180-pound prospect already has one scholarship offer and is starting to hear more from college teams around the Midwest.
"I talked to Bowling Green, I talked to Miami of Ohio, I talked to Trinity and I talked to Coach (Bruce) Tall at Michigan. That's who I have actually spoken to on the phone," Chappell reported. "Coaches are happy I'm doing well with the season and they continue to wish me success."

This summer, Chappell made a tour of Big Ten programs with stops at Ohio State, Northwestern, Illinois and Michigan State. Michigan is a new school to emerge with interest, however, and the Wolverines have continued to stay on Chappell.
"They said they would be down to watch me and they did. They watched me at our Willoughby South game. I've just been talking to them and asked him how I would be used there. Right now they are looking at me for receiver, but I'm sending them defensive back tape also."
Getting tape out will be the next big step in the process for Chappell. Already he has gotten film from his first few games in the hands of college coaches and the response has been positive.
"A coach from Ohio wanted to see some tape and he really sounded interested in recruiting me after seeing some tape, so hopefully good things will happen with Ohio," Chappell said.
The one and only offer Chappell currently holds is from Bowling Green and the two-star receiver is certainly not overlooking the opportunity for him there.
"I like Bowling Green," he commented. "It's a place where I can get a good education and it has good athletics. It is definitely a choice for me."
Because University School plays most of their games on Saturday, Chappell has been unable to get out to visit any colleges this fall, but he does have plans to later in the fall. He is in no rush to jump on a scholarship offer and looks forward to the new opportunities his current play will provide.
"I just want to see how things progress," Chappell said. "I am having a decent season, so hopefully colleges will take notice to my accomplishments and we'll see where it goes from there."
University School has started the season 1-4, but Chappell is leading the area in receiving yards. Through five games he has 20 catches for 493 yards and seven touchdowns.
