A week ago, Alexandria (Va.) Mount Vernon running back Thomas Clayton was close to committing to North Carolina. This week everything is different.
“I’m going to take my visit to Florida State on Dec. 14,” said the 6-foot, 197-pound tailback. “They’re my favorite now. I guess you can say the visit to North Carolina has worn off and playing for Florida State is on my mind now.”
Clayton has to push back his FSU visit due to the playoffs. His team is 8-2 so far this season and will play in the state finals this weekend. Last weekend he ran for 215 yards on just 15 carries and scored three touchdowns.
“It’s between FSU and UNC right now,” he said. “If I like things down at Florida State on my visit, I might commit right there.”
