Change mean a change for four-star ATH

Some fans questioned openly whether Abilene, Texas, four-star athlete Marcus “Magic” Johnson would take a look at Texas A&M again, despite being committed to Oklahoma for several months.

So does the hiring of Dennis Franchione mean that Johnson is going to take a look at the Aggies again, or is he a solid Sooner commitment?
“I’m not taking to anybody but Oklahoma,” Johnson said. “I’m committed to Oklahoma and that’s the only place that I’m going to.”
Even if Franchione, who was recruiting Johnson to play quarterback at Alabama, himself calls and tries to talk to him personally?
“I was interested a little bit in Alabama because it would have been a shot to play quarterback,” he said. “And coach Thurman was a really nice guy, too.
“But I don’t want to go to A&M. I’m sticking with Oklahoma, and I told coach (Cale) Gundy that he doesn’t have to worry about me. I have no interest in Texas A&M.”
Want even more proof?
“I just got a blue-nosed pit bull,” Johnson, who is 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, said. “I named it Magic, just like my nickname. I know that I can’t keep it in the dorms my freshman year, so I’ve talked with Mark Clayton about having him keep it over at his house.
“I talk to Clayton about once a week. We’re all cool with the dog situation. He’s a really nice guy for letting me do this.”
