Chaneys phone ringing off the hook

Tulsa (Okla.) Washington athlete Quentin Chaney has been busy on the phone today, with the opening of the contact period for college coaches.
“The phone has been ringing a lot,” the 6-foot-6, 205-pound Chaney said. “I’ve gotten calls from six schools already today.”

The six included Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Colorado, Kansas, Arkansas and Texas A&M.
“I didn’t have any real long talks with anyone,” he said. “Just some nice visits to get caught up with them and then we were done. It was nice to hear from some of them again.”
Chaney had been planning on taking in the season opener for the Sooners this past weekend.
“I didn’t get up there. I was hoping to, but it just didn’t work out to go. I will get up there at some point. I don’t have any unofficial trips lined up for anyone yet for any games. I also don’t have any official visits lined up yet. I haven’t been worrying about that yet. It will happen.”
Things have cooled down on the basketball recruiting front for the talented Chaney.
“I haven’t gotten much from any basketball coaches lately. I would still like to play both sports in college, but we’ll see how it works out. I need to see what my options are for doing that or for not doing that at the time it comes for making a decision.”
