Chaisson down to a final two

Six months ago, Beaumont (Texas) Westbrook quarterback Joe Chaisson was one of the hottest quarterbacks in the Lone Star State. He had scholarship offers from Baylor, Indiana, Iowa State, Missouri, UTEP and Tennessee. He also was on the short list to get an offer from Oklahoma.
But with signing day now less than a month away the list of schools recruiting Chaisson has been reduced to two – and it's a surprising two.

"I just took an official visit to Texas State," Chaisson, who is 6-foot-2 an 167 pounds, said.
"It's really down to Texas State and Arkansas. I'm a little surprised that the phone is dying down, but it is. I guess it just shows you what schools really want you."
Chaisson has an offer from Texas State but doesn't have one from the Razorbacks at this point. He knows without a doubt the Bobcats in San Marcos, Texas, really want him bad.
"It was a really nice visit," Chaisson said.
"I got to see the sights, and the coaches are nice. I'm being recruited by coach (Tom) Herman. I can tell that I could learn a lot. They have a good situation for me. They have a guy on his last leg of eligibility, and I know I could make an impact there early."
Arkansas has yet to offer and Chaisson is hopeful that an offer could come on his visit next weekend.
"They said they want to get me down there and visit with my family," Chaisson said. "They want to see me in person before they offer me."
