Central Valley QB has canon

The Central Area of California is home for one of the Golden State's rising young quarterbacks. Before too long the name of Dylan Swartz (6-3, 220, 4.9) from Modesto (Calif.) Central Catholic will be known among recruitneks.
As a junior, Swartz earned first-team all-league and all-area (HM) after throwing for approximately 2,300 yards and 25 touchdowns, against eight interceptions, while hitting on 63 percent of his attempts.

The talented signal caller is passed letters of introduction and is actively getting requests for film from colleges coast to coast.
"Boston College called just the other day requesting film," Central Catholic offensive coordinator Frank Borba said. "Miami requested film just before that. He's getting a ton of attention."
Other schools that have requested film are Cal, UCLA, Washington, Kansas State, Virginia, Air Force, New Mexico, San Diego State, Utah State, Florida Atlantic, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
Borba has a pretty good idea why his quarterback is drawing such attention.
"Dylan is amazingly strong for a young man his age," Borba said. "He can throw the ball through a brick wall."
"Dylan has a great work ethic," Borba said. "He always wants to throw. He is always picking my mind for drill to improve him as a quarterback."
"We run a very advanced passing game for a high school program and has become a lot better at reading coverage," Borba said. "Dylan has to determine what receiver gets the ball. It is his job to get the ball to the right guy. We don't have a primary receiver, he has to make the read and get the right person the ball."
"Anyone who ends up getting Dylan will be pretty amazed at his football knowledge," Borba said. "He has been a coach's dream."
"Dylan has all the throws" Borba said. "He's not all power, he can throw with touch, too."
"In a straight line, he's not going to beat many, but he has great feet and has a quick drop," Borba said. "He keeps his eyes downfield even when there is pressure."
"Dylan is very competitive and is an outstanding leader," Borba said. "He's a natural leader, who expects the best out of everybody, including himself."
Proving his outstanding work ethic, Swartz has a busy schedule this spring and summer. He even took the year off in baseball to concentrate on football. He will be working with quarterback guru Steve Clarkson later this month. He will attend FBU camp in Sacramento in May, the Nike Camp held in Palo Alto also in May and the Elite 11 Camp in Las Vegas in June.
