Central Valley athlete gets huge offer

One of the best football programs in the Central Valley is Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West and one of their best players defensive back/running back Nathan Fellner (6-0, 195, 4.57) just received his first written offer.
Even though the recruiting season is just in its infancy, the versatile Fellner picked up an offer from Stanford. San Diego State has also written letters of interest to Fellner and there is a very good chance things are just beginning for him on the recruiting trail.

All colleges like athletic players who have the athletic ability to play more than one position on the collegiate level and that is a quality that Fellner possesses.
In the beginning of last season, Fellner played H-back while backing up starting running back. When the starter was hurt, Fellner filled in and did a fine job against two outstanding teams, Fresno (Calif.) Bullard and Corona (Calif.) Centennial. He finished the season starting on both sides of the football.
As a junior, Fellner rushed for 454 yards on 76 carries while averaging 6.0 yards per carry and scoring three rushing touchdowns. He also hauled in 19 receptions for 292 yards and two receiving touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, Fellner racked up 26 tackles, two interceptions and a two forced fumbles.
How does Fellner feel about his offer from the Cardinal?
"When I received my offer from Stanford, I was very grateful," Fellner said. "Stanford is very high on my list.
"They are recruiting me as a running back or safety," Fellner said. "It doesn't matter to me because I like both positions a lot.
"Obviously Stanford is a great university and they play a high level of football playing in the Pac 10," Fellner said. "It is very tempting to commit, but I have to talk it over with my family and see if any other Pac 10 schools start to recruit me.
"I like Stanford the best though so I could commit soon," Fellner said. "I'm going to go on an unofficial visit to Stanford on Friday for a spring practice. I would go their junior day this Saturday, but I'm taking the SAT."
Regarding camps Fellner will definitely attend Stanford's camp, the NIKE Camp held in Palo Alto and any other camp that could be beneficial.
