Ceachir commits after visit

One of the things Alexandru Ceachir was really looking for in a college program was the opportunity to play early and he found that - and much more - during his official visit to Utah.
The Santa Monica (Calif.) Santa Monica C.C. offensive tackle committed to the Utes on Monday and said a lot of factors played into his decision.

"I have a good opportunity to play as soon as possible, I really like the coaching staff and I liked the town a lot," Ceachir said. "I talked to my family and really everything stood out about Utah.
"It was important that I'll have a chance to get on the field. In our world you're not sure what's going to happen with you tomorrow so I didn't want to take a risk. I wanted to go someplace where I could play as soon as possible."
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect visited Colorado two weekends ago and really enjoyed that trip but Ceachir said before he made his decision he wanted to take his trip to Utah.
After comparing those two programs along with offers from Arkansas, Florida International, Fresno State, Hawaii, Southern Methodist and others, Ceachir said his visit to Utah went so well that he decided to end things.
"It was an important visit," Ceachir said.
"I just looked at everything and saw how comfortable I was there. I talked with a lot of people and the coaches and I saw how the coaches talk to their players and how they take care of their players and I really liked it."
The three-star offensive tackle is not ruling out other visits but it's probably unlikely. Ceachir said he's happy with the Utes and doesn't plan to look around much.
"I'm not really sure," Ceachir said.
"I'm not sure if they want me to take any other visits. I'm not sure how it works. We'll see if I take some more visits but I'm not really sure right now."
