Tramain Hall was a highly recruited running back at Deerfield Beach (Fla.) last season who ultimately signed with North Carolina State.

Hall (pictured) met NCAA entrance requirements and went through three practices at North Carolina State before it was discovered that Hall had not passed the state of Florida high school exit exam.
Thus Hall, who also played one season at Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne High, wound up at Los Angeles (Calif.) Valley College.
"The goal was not for him to come here and play," Valley head coach Ron Ponciano said. "Everyone knew what a great talent he was. We didn't want to waste a year of his eligiblity. The goal was for him to come here to get eligible."
"But he got bored and homesick so we let him practice. He was still homesick so we let him play a little. He carried the ball 16 times for 156 yards."
"We've had some great ones here, but Tramain is one of the best. He's a special one."
"Ohio State is recruiting him as a cornerback. They want him to visit this weekend. He was scheduled to visit North Carolina State Jan. 11. I know Ohio State has very few scholarships and they aren't having many more recruiting weekends. So he might visit Ohio State this weekend."
"He was also going to visit USC Jan. 18, but I don't know if that's still on. He wants to visit Ohio State and North Carolina State."
Hall, 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, has a 40-yard dash time of 4.4 seconds. He needs 60 units by next Fall to transfer to a Division 1 college.
