CB Whitlock takes in Gamecock junior day

Chester, S.C. cornerback Charles Whitlock took in a junior day last weekend in Columbia. The 5-foot-11, 172-pounder had a good visit to South Carolina, but does he have any leaders?
"I went to South Carolina's junior day last weekend and it was alright," he said. "I liked it. They showed us the weight room, broke us down into positions and allowed me to meet Steve Spurrier.

"Talking to him was alright. He was telling me I was good enough to play anywhere on the field at cornerback or wide receiver. That doesn't really matter to me, I'll play anywhere. I also found out he won the Heisman, I didn't know that."
Before heading to South Carolina, Whitlock picked up offer number 10.
"I got a new offer from LSU," he said. "Honestly I don't really know that much about them, but I'm starting to read up now."
Next up for the Palmetto State cornerback is a visit to Virginia Tech.
"During my spring break in late March or early April I'm planning to head to Virginia Tech," he said. "I just want to go and see the school, that's basically it."
At this time, no schools are leading for Whitlock.
"All of the colleges that have offered me are the same," he said. "I should be narrowing down my list of schools to five or six just before summer.
"Basically the big thing for me is environment. I want somewhere I like the surroundings and I fit in with the people at the school. I'd like to go and win a bowl game. As far as location, it doesn't really matter at all to me."
