CB Wallace schedules visits

Cornerback Mike Wallace is scheduling official visits. Where is the 5-foot-10, 182-pounder out of Olney (Md.) Good Counsel planning to head in the next few weeks?

"I was planning to go to Vanderbilt this past weekend, but I have to reschedule my appointment with them," he said. "I was going to be the only person up there and some of the coaches wouldn't be there because they are at a coaches clinic. I think I'm going to go there midweek sometime, I'm not sure when."

Meanwhile, Wallace has two other trips scheduled the next two weekends.

"Penn State is still on for this weekend, then I'm going to New Mexico on January 23rd," he said. "I'm very impressed with the coaching staffs at all three of these schools. I just want to see if they fit me and what I'm looking for in a college."

Penn State hasn't pulled the trigger on an offer. Are they close?

"The deal with them is that they found out about me late," he said. "They already made offers. If they knew about me earlier they would have offered, now we're waiting for things to happen to see if people commit elsewhere."

In the meantime, the two-star prospect is keeping busy with track.

"I'm getting back into the swing of things running the 4x1, 4x1, 100, 200 and 55 meter."
