CB Wade names two favorites

Although he hasn't gotten any offers at this point in time, Richmond (Va.) Meadowbrook cornerback Jonathan Wade is receiving plenty of interest from mostly the East and Midwest. The 6-foot-1, 198-pounder likes a couple schools early in the recruiting process.
"I like Virginia Tech and Miami a lot," he said. "I like Miami's whole defensive scheme, I've grown up a hurricane fan and Sean Taylor is my favorite player. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech is close to home and I went up there with John Graves before and I like the family atmosphere they have. The fact that John goes there could be a factor and I like the option to play with players I know from Virginia."

Other schools showing interest in Wade include Tennessee, Duke, North Carolina State, East Carolina, Connecticut, Penn State, Indiana, Illinois, Northwestern, Kansas State, Virginia and West Virginia.
Is the cornerback prospect looking for anything specific out of his future home?
"The most important thing to me is academics and then it is the football program," he said. "I'm looking to go into kinesiology or athletic training, so that is important. I also want a chance to play and be comfortable with the coaching staff and the schemes the school runs."
Wade was named honorable mention all-district last season despite missing four games.
"I stand out as a player because of my size and speed, I'm 198-pounds and all muscle. I have a linebacker's size, but play with cornerback speed."
This spring Wade plans to attend the Nike Camp at Penn State in May.
