CB Still Committed But Attracting Interest

Cornerback Larry McClain was one of the best in the East last season, but was forced to enroll at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia to qualify academically. He signed a letter of intent with Syracuse last February, but other teams are coming after the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder.
“Larry is still committed to Syracuse, but he’s getting a lot of attention from other schools as well,” said Fork Union head coach John Shuman. “West Virginia is making a big push at him and Maryland also wants him. There are others, but those are the ones he seems most interested in.”

McClain was a star for Forestville High School in Maryland as a senior and is expected to take a few visits before making it official with Syracuse.
“I think he still wants to play at Syracuse,” said Shuman. “But he’s such a terrific player that others are bound to come around.”
