The city of Jacksonville is also blessed with an abundance of talent and one of the better prospects this season is Rashad Knight. Knight, 5-10 and 181 pounds, is from Trinity Christian. He's a standout on both sides of the ball and is being recruited to play cornerback.
"Spring is going really well," Knight said. "I am playing strong safety, receiver and running back. I am even playing on special teams. My goal is get 90 tackles and I want four interceptions. We are playing more passing teams this season so I think I can get it."
According to Knight he has scholarship offers from Michigan, Illinois, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Indiana, Minnesota and Michigan State. The Spartans were the last to offer.
"Michigan State offered me on Monday. I don't know too much but I do know they have a good basketball team. I want to take a look and see what is up with them.
"I am still kind of open with everyone. I thought about going to some schools this summer and I may go around with my coach and teammates. I need to sit down and decide with my parents. All offers are still in the running right now."
Knight says he hopes to camp at FSU and may camp now at Florida. He is also getting a lot of interest from some other programs as well.
"UCF, UCLA and Alabama are recruiting me hard and they are all sending me a lot of letters."
