Cavs, Illini lead for Creamer

A lot of coaches these days are giving up some speed at the receiver position in favor of size. But some wideouts, like Bryant Creamer, have the total package.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver from Chicago (Ill.) Simeon runs the 40-yard dash in under 4.5 seconds, and his frame gives quarterbacks a big target. He's got the ability to go up and snag balls away from defenders, and he has good hands. Who are his leaders?

"Virginia and Illinois are my two favorites at this point," he said. "Both schools have great coaching staffs that have their programs on the right track, and I think I would fit into both offenses really well. Illinois is so close to home, and they've offered, so you have to consider that. But I really want Virginia to offer so I can choose between those two when I'm ready to decide."
In addition to an offer from Illinois, Creamer has an offer from Cincinnati. He will know if he'll have more soon and there's a good chance he will. Who else is the Chicago-native considering?
"I'm looking at schools like Southern Cal, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Michigan State," he said. "They're all strong academically, have good college atmospheres and should be successful on the field in the future. You can throw Cincinnati in the mix since they've offered."
When can we expect a decision from Creamer?
"I'll probably make my decision sometime early in 2004, probably in January. I'm visiting Illinois some time in December, but I'd like to take more visits. After my official visits I should be ready."
As a junior Creamer had nearly 1,000 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns. He was named first team all-city in Chicago and was an all-conference selection as well.
