Cavs close to offering Florida star

Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater always has top talent, that is no secret. One of the top prospects for Edgewater this year is defensive back Michael Parker who has already picked up several offers, but may be close to another.
"I have gotten calls from Virginia, Kentucky, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Central Florida and Ole Miss so far in the past week," Parker said. "Virginia called me on the first day they were allowed to call. They said I was one of their first calls. They said they were probably going to offer me soon. I went up there for a camp this summer and they really liked me, they are just waiting on game film."

The 6-foot-2, 183-pound Parker attended the NIKE camp in Tallahassee where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds, had a 4.22 second shuttle, posted a 30-inch vertical jump and did eight reps on the bench press.
"Florida State, Virginia, Ole Miss, Kentucky and Clemson would be my top five," Parker said. "Florida State and Virginia may be out in front of the others right now. Virginia has great academics and a solid football program. Florida State is just Florida State."
As a junior Parker helped to lead Edgewater to the class 6A state title game for the second consecutive year, though they came up short both times.
"We've played one game so far this year and I'm doing pretty well," Parker said. "The team we played did't throw much so I don't have any picks yet, but I did have seven tackles."
