Cavaliers are hot

The Virginia Cavaliers have added another impact recruit to the class of 2005. This time they headed south to secure one of the top wide receiver performers from the NIKE Camp at Charlottesville. Who pulled the trigger for the Cavaliers?
Durham (N.C.) Southern athlete/wide receiver Brandon Woods has become the thirteenth member of Virginia's 2005 class. Woods, whose teammate Maurice Covington is also a member of the Cavaliers 2005 class, put on a clinic at the NIKE Camp at Charlottesville. What made Woods pull the trigger so early?

"Virginia offers me everything that I look for in a school. I have a chance to play at the highest of college football, in the ACC. I have an opportunity to play my position of preference and that is wide receiver and most importantly get a degree from one of the top schools country. I want to major in business," said the 6-foot-2, 200-pound playmaker who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
Woods said comfort level and opportunity were the main reasons for his decision.
"I really love Virginia. I have been there a few times but the trip for their spring game and the NIKE Camp just sealed it for me. Coach Prince, and all of the coaches, have just been great to me. I talked it over with my coach, Coach Walters, and he agreed with my decision. I have a chance to get on the field early and contribute. I am very excited."
Last season, Woods had 36 receptions for 857 yards and nine touchdowns. Woods is also a star cornerback for Southern Durham as he racked up nine interceptions.
