Causey reeling in the offers

MORE: Miner making a name for himself
Although he already has a bevy of offers, three-star 2015 cornerback Rashard Causey of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School claims his recruiting process has been rather slow recently.

"Recruiting has been slow, nothing major," said Causey, who is now up to 23 offers. "Clemson and Pittsburgh offered in the last month."
Those offers join an already impressive listed loaded with schools such as Florida, Arkansas, Miami, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Penn State, Tennessee, Notre Dame and UCLA.
"It feels great," said Causey, who is 6-foot-0 and 190 pounds. "I'm just glad that I have an opportunity to get a higher education and play at the next level."
Causey believes that Florida State, USC and Texas are close to joining his ever-growing offer list.
When it comes to taking visits this winter and spring, Causey only brought up Louisville at this time. Although Charlie Strong and much of his staff recently left for Texas, Causey is still considering the Cardinals.
"It doesn't bother me much," said Causey. "I'm happy for the coaches."
That being said, the addition of Strong in Austin may help the Longhorns.
"I really like Texas," said Causey. "I like their defense and playing style and how they get their defensive back's involved in a lot of their schemes."
Causey has a list of top schools in mind, and there are a few surprises in the bunch.
"My current favorites are Miami and South Carolina. I also like Michigan, Ohio State and Stanford," said Causey, who acknowledged that he has yet to hear from the Wolverines or Cardinal.
During his junior season at University School, Causey finished with 40 total tackles and four interceptions.
"The season finished up well. I can't complain," said Causey. "I improved with my ball skills and overall technique."
