Cats land talented QB

The Arizona Wildcats have picked up a talented quarterback in Tyler Lyon (6-6, 225, 4.8) from Newhall (Calif.) Hart. The Cats get a quarterback with great size and mobility. He also throws a very sweet deep ball. Lyon has a great pocket presence.
Though Lyon was this season and missed three games, he still threw for over 1,500 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also used his big frame rushing the football for five more touchdowns.

Lyon comes from a great football background and has been around the game his whole life. His Dad is Chuck Lyon the head football coach for College of the Canyons.
College of the Canyons is one of the nation's best junior college football programs in the country and is currently the No. 1 rated junior college team in the United States.
Lyon will also play baseball for Arizona as he is an outstanding pitching prospect. His Dad, besides being a great football coach is also a Pac 10 umpire.
Needless to say, Coach Lyon won't be umpping any Arizona Wildcat games.
Lyon is the latest in a long line of Hart quarterbacks that are college caliber. Others included are David Neill (Nevada), Kyle Boller (Cal), Kyle Matter (Stanford), Matt Moore (Oregon State), and Sean Norton (Fresno State).
"I have always liked Arizona," Lyon said. "I've watched them on TV and I really like their offense. They like to get the ball downfield."
Arizona wins the services of Lyon over other offers from ASU, Oregon State, Ole Miss, BYU and Notre Dame.
