Cats do it again

Can things get any better for Arizona Wildcat fans? They are fast locking up just about every bluechip prospect in their home state. The latest to join Mike Stoops caravan is stellar offensive tackle Daniel Borg (6-6, 280, 5.4) from Tucson (Ariz.) Ironwood Ridge.
“This week I have been seriously thinking about committing and I talked about with my parents,” Borg said. “We were weighing all options and discussed why Arizona is a good school for me.”

“I will have a great opportunity to play at the school and really like coach (Mike) Stoops and offensive line coach (Eric) Wolfard.”
“I wanted to play in my hometown where my family and friend can see me play,” Borg said. “I also like the educational opportunities at U of A. I’m thinking of majoring in geophysics.”
“All these factors have been with me throughout the recruiting process and Arizona is recruiting a great class and I wanted to be part of it.”
“I wanted to be part of the class that changes this program,” Borg said. “This program is going to be a winner.”
In an earlier interview with Rivals.com Ironwood Ridge head coach Gary Minor said this about his talented athlete, “Daniel is the complete package. He is an outstanding young man.”
“Daniel has always been focused and wants to be the best he can be,” Minor said. “He doesn’t miss any workouts. Daniel loves to get himself ready.”
“As a football player, Daniel totally dominates the opposition,” Minor said. “He’s a great drive blocker, a great pull blocker and he’s excellent in pass protection. Like I said earlier, Daniel is the complete package.”
Borg was selected first-team all-region, first-team all-area and second-team all-state for his skills on the gridiron in 2003.
Borg was rated by Rivals.com as the Grand Canyon State’s number four rated prospect at any position for the preseason among the class of 2005.
