Cats, Cards battle for in-state WR
Three-star Louisville (Ky.) Fern Creek wide receiver Mario Urrutia says he’s likely narrowed his decision down to Bluegrass State rivals Louisville and Kentucky.
“It’s mainly those two right now,” he said. “The coach that was recruiting me at Virginia, I really liked him a lot, but he’s leaving to take a job at Army now. I’m not really looking at them anymore.

“Michigan is still a possibility, but they haven’t recruited me as hard as UofL and UofK. I’m waiting to see if I hear back from them this week.”
Urrutia (6-5, 195, 4.6) had 62 receptions for 1,163 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. He gave an early commitment to the Wildcats prior to his senior season, but later decided that came too soon.
Asked if there’s a current favorite, he said: “Not really. You could say UofK because I committed there originally and I had a good time on my visit, but UofL will probably come up a little bit after I visit them. It’s pretty even.
“I like UofL’s offensive style, the way they use their wide receivers, and the coaches are pretty cool. I like UofK’s coaches, too, and they have a nice campus and good facilities. They also have a good opportunity for a freshman to come in and help them right away. It's a tough decision."
