Cato next big prospect at Summit

Another defensive back from Mansfield Summit has picked up several scholarship offers after the spring.
With his teammate, Terran Benton on the board with several offers, safety David Cato is now on the board as well.

"The ones in writing are from Purdue, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Texas, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech, and I think that's it," Cato said. "The rest of them are verbal offers from New Mexico, Utah, Rice, Iowa, and ULM.
"My first one came from Wisconsin and after my coach told me they were going to offer, they did. I thought that was pretty big."
Cato registered 102 tackles, five sacks, and an interception as a junior and earned second-team all-district honors. During his career, he's earned some comparisons to one pro player.
"Everybody compares me to Bob Sanders because I'm not that big, but I'm an aggressive safety," Cato said. "I like to come down and hit but also play the deep ball."
Early on, Cato says he has a top five.
"It's Iowa, Wisconsin, North Texas, Rice, and Iowa State," he said. "I'm going to make a decision after I got some visits - this fall."
Cato says that he and his teammates recently participated in a 7-on-7 tournament and SMU and will also be heading down to Louisiana-Monroe next week for another tournament.
