Castille enjoys first trip

Three-star athlete Simeon Castille from Birmingham (Ala.) Briarwood Christian returned home Monday after taking his first official visit. The No. 28 safety in the country according to Rivals.com, had a very good experience at Virginia, and looks forward to seeing what others have to offer.
“It was great,” he commented. “I enjoyed it a whole lot for two reasons: I liked the campus, and at the game on Saturday, the atmosphere was incredible. They play real hard.” He rated the visit a ten.

Castille was hosted on his visit by Cavalier players Mark Miller and Tony Franklin and enjoyed the company of both.
“I already knew Mark,” he explained. “He played on my team in high school. Tony was real cool.”
Simeon has not made any other plans for visits, but would like to go to Alabama, LSU, Georgia, and maybe Louisville. He lists these schools as his top five, and even though his dad, Jeremiah, played at Alabama and his brother, Tim, is currently on the Crimson Tide team, he claims no favorites.
“I don’t have a leader,” he commented. “It is kind of just up to those five.” He said he has offers from Alabama, LSU, and Louisville, and doesn’t plan to make a decision until after the season.
Castille has had a solid senior season with four interceptions and more than 60 tackles. He returned two of his picks for scores in leading his team to a 7-1 overall record, undefeated in the region. He recorded 107 tackles, 11 pass break-ups and three interceptions as a junior, and averaged 28 yards on kickoff returns and 19 yards per punt return.
Simeon has already scored a 22 on the ACT and carries a 3.0 GPA, so qualifying academically should not be a problem.
