Cason Arizona Bound

It appears that one of the best cover corners in southern California this season Antoine Cason (6-1, 180, 4.5) from Los Alamitos, Calif., has fallen under the spell of new Arizona Wildcat head coach Mike Stoops. The word on the street is Cason has committed to Arizona.
Rivals.com has phone call into the Cason household but no one was home.

The word is Cason had an in-home visit with Arizona’s new running back coach Charlie Williams last week and our source tells us that Cason made the phone call today that will make Wildcat fans happy.
If Cason is indeed committed to Arizona, this is a huge feather in the cap for Mike Stoops and the Wildcats.
Cason has long favored Oregon State.
Cason was a blanket in coverage this season so the opposition didn’t throw many times in Cason’s area.
Even though opponents have avoided Cason this season, he still has picked off three passes. He also is a solid defender against the run as he has racked up 41 tackles from his corner spot and has an eye for the football as he has recovered two fumbles in 2003.
Besides Arizona, Cason has offers from Oregon State, Colorado and Boise State.
It looks like the Wildcats are already receiving positive benefits from the Stoops regime.
More on this development later.
