Carteret has two in 2008

Carteret, N.J. head coach Matt Yascko claims to have two prospects to watch in the 2008 recruiting class. Leading the way of the two is 6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver Brian Williams.
"He's a blue chip quality wide receiver, the total package," he said. "He is tall, fast, can jump, and has very good hands and blocks. He does it all. He's super athletic and returns kicks, punts and is a strong safety for us. He brings a lot to the table.

"Off the field, he's a very quiet, shy type of kid with a good personality. He keeps to himself and should have no problem qualifying."
Currently a wide variety of schools have shown an interest in Williams according to his coach.
"He's getting pretty high interest mostly from the Big East," he said. "Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia, Iowa and others have been in."
Does Williams have any leaders?
"Not really that I know," he said. "Rutgers shows a lot of interest and Virginia is pretty high, but those are just the schools showing the most interest early."
Last season Williams hauled in 39 receptions for 800 yards and eight touchdowns. He added 70 tackles, two interceptions, three sacks and two blocked kicks on defense on his way to first team all-county.
Meanwhile, 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back Byron Lewin is gaining interest of his own.
"I think Byron is more of an all-purpose back in college," he said. "He's got very good hands, is quick and has good athletic ability. He actually played quarterback for us some too in option packages.
"I think there is a possibility he could play cornerback in college too."
Yascko went on to discuss Lewin as a person.
"He is an outgoing player, he's almost a little brass, but he backs it up," he said. "He takes on a leadership role and kids respond to him. He'll have no problem qualifying too."
Schools are beginning to take an interest in the Garden State prospect.
"He does have some Division I interest from Rutgers and Connecticut," he said. "I believe some of the MAC schools are coming by. Right now we're just starting to get tape out on him."
Lewin accounted for nearly 1,400 yards of offense and 15 total touchdowns last season. He added 49 tackles and two interceptions on defense on his way to first team all-county.
