Carter talks about Oregon State

North Las Vegas (Nev.) Cheyenne athlete Quinton Carter took his second official visit of the year to Oregon State this past weekend. Carter had earlier visited Fresno State and will take at least two more trips before making his decision.
Carter, 6-1, 175 pounds is a talented athlete who could play a number of positions in college. He said just about everyone wants him for free safety but he would love to play on both sides of the ball in college.

"That's what Oregon State is telling me," Carter said. "I had a great trip, it was lot of fun. I got in a round 11:30 on Friday and then had about an hour drive from Portland to Corvallis. I checked in to my hotel and then went over to the stadium to meet the players and coaches.
"I was hosted by Gerard Lawson who is from Vegas and a guy I've known for a long time. All the players and coaches are really nice and I felt like we all bonded pretty well. I checked out the stadium and the weight room and was really impressed with the whole set up there.
"Later that night, we all went out and I got to see the city and had a good time. Saturday, I got a campus tour, saw where all the students hang out and talked to some of the academic people there. We watched about a half of the basketball game and then went and watched the USC- UCLA game. After the game, we all went out and ate some more, they feed you really well on those trips, and I needed some rest so we went back to the hotel for a little bit.
"Sunday, I got to spend a lot of time with Coach Riley and we just talked about how I would fit in there. They didn't pressure me to commit or anything but I could tell coach Riley wants me there. He kind of danced around it a little bit but he knows I want to take more of my visits before I do anything but I really like Oregon State and they're definitely way up on my list right now."
Carter will visit UNLV this weekend (Dec. 9) and then Oklahoma (Dec. 16).
"Everyone but Oklahoma has offered," Carter said. "They said they want to see a little bit more film and I'm sending them some cut ups of about 20 plays tomorrow. They're also coming by for a home visit this week along with UNLV but I don't remember the day. I know Coach Hill at Fresno State is coming over on Thursday. Oregon State was by last week and Coach Riley wanted to come over this Saturday but I'll be at UNLV. I'll make my decision after the trip to Oklahoma."
