Carter reels in four more big offers

Michael Carter out of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely has officially stepped out of the shadows of his former teammate Patrick Johnson. Carter had already picked up offers from Miami, Minnesota and West Virginia but he can now add four more very impressive names to his last.
Over the past week, Carter added offers from names as big as Purdue, Oklahoma, Florida and on Wednesday he found out about an offer from Texas.

"I got one from the University of Texas today," Carter said. "My coach said the coaches called him and they watched m on the film and they love me and they said that there were going to send an offer in the mail after Spring Break."
The Florida native is not very familiar with the Texas program at this point but hopes to see more of Austin.
"I really don't know anything about Texas but I want to take an unofficial visit to see what's going on up there," he said.
Carter also has limited knowledge of his other two out of state offers in Oklahoma and Purdue.
"I'll have to get some letters in and see what's going on with them and see about their coaching staffs," he said.
The offer that he is very familiar with is that of the Florida Gators.
"I was at track practice and my coach called me and said somebody wants to talk to you and I was like, 'who?' and he said Coach Meyer. Coach Meyer was asking me things about track and football and he said you've got an offer from us and we want you to come and visit."
If Carter comes to Gainesville, it won't be the first time. The 6-foot-0 defensive back has been camping at Florida for years.
"I go to all their camps in the summer so I knew pretty much about them," he said. "They've got a good coaching staff and good players on the team."
At this early stage in the process, Carter had listed Miami and Minnesota as his favorites however the offer from Florida has him interested and ready to learn more about the Big 12 and Big Ten schools that have come knocking.
