There are probably more names missing from the past, but the list is sure to go on and on. That’s because the next in the Carter Cowboy line is Anthony Barnett.
Barnett, a 5-foot-9, 175-pound lightning-quick runner, says he is considering scholarship offers from Colorado, Texas A&M, Kansas, Houston, Iowa, Iowa State and LSU.
LSU and Iowa are recruiting him as a defensive back, while the others, according to Barnett, are interested in him as a running back.
“I’m a straight-ahead runner. I go North and South,” Barnett explained. “I’m also a very good open field runner. I can make people miss me.”
Barnett says he has two schools that he favors more than the others.
“I really like (Texas) A&M and Colorado,” he said. “They both have produced good running backs and I like their style. They run the football a lot.”
Barnett has yet to schedule any official visits.
In four games as a senior, he has rushed for 318 yards and two touchdowns.
