Carrington emerges at tournament

FULLERTON, Calif. - One of the biggest surprises at Sunday's Passing Down SoCal 7on7 Regional was Darren Carrington, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound receiver who caught almost every pass thrown his way.
The San Diego (Calif.) Horizon receiver was one of the biggest standouts all day and his offer list has started to take off as well.

Carrington said he has offers from Arizona, Boston College, San Diego State, Washington State, Tulane and Montana and that three schools are especially standing out early on.
"Boston College, Arizona and Washington State stand out the most," Carrington said.
'With Arizona, one of our receivers in the past went there and he was telling me about it. I really like the Washington State coaches and at Boston College the coaches are welcoming, too. It seems like they have a lot of fun out at BC."
Washington and Oregon are showing lots of interest in Carrington, who played with the Frat Boyz 7on7 team this past weekend.
The San Diego Horizon standout was one of the best receivers seen at the entire event so before he limits himself in his recruitment, Carrington wants to see if any other programs get involved.
With the way he played at Fullerton College, things could pick up soon.
Oregon is definitely one of the programs Carrington wants to hear more from and Washington has been getting involved as well.
"I would love to go to Oregon but I'm open to everywhere because I just want to play," Carrington said. "I just like their spread offense. Each time the ball is snapped, everybody has a play to make and everybody has a chance to do something with the ball.
"I'm looking to wait and see maybe around my senior season to commit. I want to wait a little longer though to see if other schools reach out to me."
