Carr was quick on the draw

When you make a commitment to a Pac 10 school, it doesn't take long to get the word out. Chula Vista (Calif.) Eastlake receiver/safety Stephen Carr picked up an offer from Washington State last week, but an offer from another Pac 10 school last night ended the process for him immediately.
"We wanted to make some announcements first, but you're the first that's going to know," Eastlake coach John McFadden said. "Stephen has committed to Stanford. That's the school he really wanted to go.

"It was a really easy, easy decision for him. It was a pretty quick decision. They called and offered him a scholarship. Then they asked when he was ready to commit. He said 'how about now' and 'you've got it.' "
McFadden said he couldn't be prouder of his 6-foot-2, 205-pound player.
"This goes to show you what working hard in the classroom will do for you," the coach said. "You take care of your grades and everything else will work itself out in the end."
