Carr should have big senior season
Chino (Calif.) Don Lugo's Russell Carr is one of the state's top two way standouts. He's getting looks at both receiver and defensive back and expects his recruitment to pick up once the season rolls around.

Carr, 6-2, 190 pounds had a big junior season and put up solid numbers on both sides of the ball. He was an all-league selection on defense after racking up 79 tackles and eight picks and earned all-CIF honors at receiver after catching 23 passes for 450 yards and two touchdowns.
"Most of the schools are recruiting me as a receiver," Carr said. "Some like me as an athlete and feel I could also play safety and I really don't have a preference. I just want to play so whatever gets me on the field the fastest is where I'll be most comfortable playing."
Carr received two early offers back in June and things remain pretty status quo right now.
"BYU and UTEP are still my only offers but I think once our season starts, a lot more schools will jump on board," Carr said. "I've talked to a lot of colleges that just want to see me early in the season before they offer. Utah, Colorado and Colorado State are just a few of the schools I'm hearing a lot from.
"Right now, I really don't have a leader or even a top five. I'm open to everyone who wants to recruit me. I'm just looking for a school with a good atmosphere where I can get a good education and where I'll be comfortable. I want to take all my trips so I'm in no hurry to make a decision. After my trips are done, that's when I'll commit."
