Chino (Calif.) Don Lugo three-star receiver Russell Carr is taking his first official visit of the year this weekend to UTEP. The 6-foot-1, 190-pounder said he's excited about the visit.

"I'm pumped," he said.
"This is my first one ever. I don't know really what to expect. I want to see the team, the crowd, the school and be around the coaches. It should be a fun and exciting time. I've never been to a visit like this before, so it'll be a new experience for me."
Carr, ranked as one of the top receivers in California, said he's not sure if he could commit on the visit or not. He does have offers from UTEP and BYU.
"I don't know what will happen," he said. "I'll just play it by ear."
Carr said he's still getting some pretty serious recruiting attention from the Pac 10.
"UCLA called the other day," he said. "That was exciting. I'm also talking to Arizona State, Utah and San Diego State. They're all wanting to get more film on me from my senior season and then decide on offering. I do like that UTEP and BYU have offered me early and that they believe in me."
Carr has been the focus of double-teams quite a bit this fall.
He had two touchdowns in his first game and a two-point conversion. Since then, he's been shutout of the end zone. But the focus on him has allowed others to get open.
"If they're worried about me, then that leaves my teammates chances to make big plays," he said. "As long as we're winning and scoring, I'm not too worried about my personal stats."
