Five-star K.J. Henry has been the center of attention for much of the week at the Shrine Bowl. The defensive end out of Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth has been making plays all over the field but his recruitment continues to one of the headlines off the field.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“Nobody is really getting after me and trying to recruit me but they’re just asking me where I’m going and I keep telling them I don’t know,” Henry said. “DJ (Crossen) and I have been talking a lot and he’s committed to Virginia Tech. He’s really the main one that I’m talking to. I’m talking to Jake (Venables) a bit too. None of it is really hardcore.

“Coach Swinney called me last night just to check in after he finished his in-home visit with Trevor Lawrence,” he said. “He just wanted to see how I was doing. Coach Fuente and coach Foster from Virginia Tech have been checking in with me. All of this has been in the last couple days.”

RIVALS’ REACTION…

The way recruits go after each other during all-star games is always interesting. Clearly they are taking a subtle tactic with Henry and not trying to pressure him. College coaches haven’t laid off either. Coach Swinney from Clemson and coach Fuente from Virginia Tech are making sure they stay on the same page with Henry throughout the week and a half prior to his commitment on December 20th. Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama are also contenders for Henry.
