Carolina standout has eyes for California

There is a player from North Carolina who has the Golden State on his mind and more specifically the Cal Bears. This three-star running back has three offers and will visit Cal in January.
The player in question is Remene Alston (5-9, 184, 4.3) from Greensboro (N.C.) Page. This speedster has also clocked a 10.6 100-m.

Alston has offers from NC State, ECU and Kentucky. Indiana, Minnesota, Oregon, UCLA and Cal have all showed some recent interest in him.
According Alston, he has scheduled a visit to Cal on January 6th. The word is Cal running back coach Ron Gould has done a great job recruiting him. The word is that if he likes his trip he will commit to the Bears.
Another thing that makes this scenario feasible is Alston has relatives in California.
The scouting report on Austin is he has been compared in his running style to three very impressive backs.
One compared him to Barry Sanders, and another to Tony Dorsett. He has even been compared to LaDainian Tomlinson. That is a lot to live up to.
Alston is very flexible, can stop and cut on dime while not losing speed.
As a senior, Alston rushed for 2,133 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also caught 13 passes for 212 yards and one receiving touchdown. He also returned two punts for scores.
Alston's senior season saw him earn his Conferences Offensive Player of the Year.
It seems like Alston has been doing his homework regarding the Bears.
"What's not to know about Cal," Alston said. "I've been keeping up with them for the last two years."
"They had two backs who rushed for 1,000 in J.J. Arrington and Marshawn Lynch," Alston said. "J.J. is from area."
"I have a lot of interest in Cal," Alston said. "I even recorded their bowl game last night."
"I am looking forward to meeting Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett," Alston said. "Forsett has quite a recruiting story. Cal was the only team to offer him from what I understand."
