Carolina sleeper DB visits three schools

Colleges are taking notice of a 6-foot-2, 195-pound safety in North Carolina. The Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell prospect hit three college camps last week and may be close to getting his first offer.
"I recently went to Tennessee on Thursday, North Carolina on Friday and Duke on Saturday," Ardrey Kell safety Troy Elkins said. "I'm going to Wake Forest in July.

"I'm also hearing from Virginia, Clemson, Maryland and Marshall."
What did Elkins think of his trips?
"All the coaches said they liked me," he said. "I thought Tennessee was going to offer after camp, but they want to watch me more on video, they taped the camp. I did talk to Monte Kiffin and I love Tennessee.
"Duke and North Carolina are going to evaluate me more too."
Currently four schools are leading the way for Elkins.
"The main schools I'm visiting, North Carolina, Duke, Tennessee and Wake Forest are the ones I have a main interest in," he said. "I like Tennessee's program and their coaches. It seems like they can get me a lot better.
"I've loved Wake Forest since I was a kid. Growing up I like them and Coach Grobe. The education at Duke is obviously great and I like my recruiter. I like my recruiter at North Carolina too. We get along great."
Elkins has largely flown under the radar till now. What sticks out about him as a player?
"I'd probably say it's my game speed and explosiveness. I have a lot of drive. I did alright last year, but this should be my breakout season."
Also a track athlete and basketball player, Elkins finished third in the conference in the 400 meter.
