Carolina safety lands first offer

Charlotte (N.C.) Victory Christian safety Justin Lloyd acquired his first offer this past weekend. Who pulled the trigger on offering the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder?
"I got an offer from Appalachian State on Sunday," he said. "I'm happy and really excited about it. I went up to camp and earned the scholarship at a one day camp myself.

"I talked to the coaches and did some drills and one-on-ones and then they said they wanted me to be part of their program."
With the first offer behind him, Lloyd also is receiving interest from numerous other schools.
"Michigan, Wake Forest, South Carolina, Clemson and JMU have been in touch," he said. "A lot of them are asking me to come to camp to see me more. Michigan has even asked me to come up for their first game of the year."
As for camps, the North Carolina prospect is looking at a few.
"I'm going to Virginia on Saturday for a seven-on-seven with my team," he said. "JMU wants me up and I'm looking at that and then I may go to Duke's as well as Virginia Tech on July 14th."
At this time, it's clear which school leads for Lloyd.
"Right now Appalachian State is in the lead since they came up and gave me a scholarship."
Lloyd earned all-conference honors after registering 98 tackles and three interceptions as a junior.
