Carolina RB favors LSU

In a great year for running backs in North Carolina, Andre Brown is one of the three best. He has several offers on the table from prestigious schools, but one SEC school in particular has caught his eye lately.
"LSU has been after me pretty hard lately," said the 6-foot-1, 210-pound back. "They've only come on recently and I get mail from them all the time. I like them a lot. They're a big-time SEC program, they play in a wild atmosphere and I expect them to be one of the nation's top programs for years to come."

And while LSU has shot up Brown's list, another high profile school is falling.
"My interest in Florida State is going down," said Brown. "They got a big running back commitment the other week and their depth chart is pretty full. I guess you can put them at 'low' interest with North Carolina and Virginia. They're still recruiting me, but not as hard as Nebraska, NC State or LSU. Those three are after me real hard."
All in all, Brown has 13 offers from schools like Tennessee, NC State, Nebraska, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia, among others. What will be the biggest factors for the Greenville (N.C.) Rose star?
"How well I connect with the coaching staff is going to be very important," he commented. "I just want to be around a good group of guys that work together and have a common goal and purpose. One of my strengths is my leadership and I want to take that with me wherever I go."
Last year Brown had 181 carries for 2,123 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also caught 20 passes for 409 yards and three scores.
