Carolina DB holds one offer

One offer is already in for a 6-foot-3, 192-pound safety in North Carolina. The Charlotte (N.C.) Vance prospect pulled the offer back in the fall and is looking at plenty of other schools as well.
"I have one offer from Illinois," safety Dechane Durante said. "I got that in September. They are looking like the only school looking strong at me, if I don't get any other offers by the end of the summer I'll probably commit.

"I have already visited Illinois. I went there last October on an unofficial. I liked it. They talked about playing time and it looks like by my freshman year in 201 I could be in the lineup. It could be a good fit for me."
Other schools are interested in Durante as well.
"I'm supposed to go to North Carolina this Saturday for a visit," he said. "I've also gotten letters from Duke, Syracuse, Cincinnati and NC State."
While Durante doesn't claim favorites, he was a fan of one school growing up.
"I've been a North Carolina fan of course," he stated. "I really like the basketball program and they are my home state school. They've got a good football team too."
With interest picking up, what does Durante want in a school?
"I'm looking to see if they have my major academic wise. I'm looking at physical therapy. Academics are first," he said. "I want to fit into a school too. I want a place I can adapt to and I don't want to sit on the bench for four years."
Last season the Carolina prospect earned all-conference as a junior as he posted three interceptions, one punt return for a touchdown, one kickoff return for a touchdown and seven receiving touchdowns.
