Carolina back wants to be a Buckeye

Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond County running back Norman Whitley had hoped to make an official visit to Ohio State and see the Buckeyes play Texas. Whitley had to settle for watching the game on T.V., but hopes to make it to Columbus at a later date. He also hopes to play for the Buckeyes.
"I planned on making an official visit to Ohio State this weekend," Whitley said. "But I didn't get in touch with the coaching staff. They didn't get back with me.

"So I watched the game on T.V. last night. Ohio State impressed me. They just had a fumble at the end of the game. They played well.
"They still interest me. If they were to offer, I would commit. They're my favorite right now. I would still like to make Ohio State my first official visit."
When asked who else he is looking at, Whitley said, "I talked to Tennessee on Friday. North Carolina, Virginia, North Carolina State, I talked to all of them.
"And Clemson and South Carolina are two more.
"East Carolina and North Carolina have offered me."
Whitley, 5-8 and 177 pounds, rushed for 2700 yards during his junior season. Through four victories this season he has close to 650 yards and six touchdowns.
