Carney still wide open

Cornerback Chris Carney of Denver (Colo.) Mullen holds four offers and though he has not gathered any more, the 6-foot-1, 160-pound cornerback has still enjoyed watching his stock shoot through the roof.
It all started at the NIKE Training Camp in Manhattan (Kan.) this summer and since then the offers and attention started rolling in. Now with Iowa State, Washington state, Wyoming, and Northern Colorado all involved with scholarships, Carney is starting to think ahead.

"It's just those four still," Carney said. "I just went up there to work hard at the NIKE camp and I think during the one-on-ones I really showed my stuff. I think that got things started."
Though he explained that he remains wide open, Carney really seems to think a lot of two schools in particular.
"Iowa State and Washington State are still up there," Carney said. "It's just because those are great programs in great conferences with the Pac-10 and the Big 12. It's looking nice with offers like that."
Official visits have not entered his mind. Once he sees when each school will offer, then he'll decide where he'll trip to.
"I'm going to wait and see who offers then make a decision after I take those trips," Carney said. "I'm going to decide sometime in December."
Carney is rated as the No. 12 overall prospect in the state of Colorado.
