Carnes ready for big season

Brion Carnes is making a name for himself. This future South Florida Bull quarterback had quite a spring. He had a big game against Largo, as Bradenton Manatee destroyed the Packers. He also picked up some big time scholarship offers from schools like Georgia, West Virginia and Louisville. Is he still solid with Jim Leavitt and USF?
"Yes sir, I am," Carnes said. "I am solid with South Florida."

Rumors have surfaced that Carnes may camp with the Dawgs later this month. As of now Carnes says that will not likely happen.
"So far I have only camped at USF. If I camp somewhere else this summer it's about me learning new things and drills from some other coaches. I will talk things over with my family and my coaches if something does pop up. But right now I am not planning on anything."
Carnes participated in the Bulls big camp, SuperBull. He was excited to get on the field at Raymond James Stadium and work out with the coaches.
"That was so much fun and very exciting. To be on Raymond James field and having those lights hitting you. I was imagining playing for USF against Syracuse or Cincinnati.
"Seriously, I learned some of their (USF) drills and things they work on and I believe I did pretty well."
If the outcome of their spring game is any indication then Manatee could be in for a big season. Of course everything started with Carnes.
"We played pretty well against Largo. For me, I am just out there trying to be the leader and keeping everyone focused. I want to make some big plays and set the standard. We did that against Largo. I think we showed that Manatee is back. Now I am looking to win state this season."
Manatee will travel to Tampa Plant for both teams opening games this season in a Kickoff Classic. That should be one of the top games in the state of Florida during week one of the season.
