Carmouche has weekend plans

Manvel (Texas) three-star 2016 linebacker Jordan Carmouche and his Maverick teammates started the season with a bang on Thursday night as they took on the Westfield Mustangs.
It was to be a match-up of two top teams who happened to be loaded with talent, and Manvel was able to come out with a 35-10 win.

"We got out here and played to the best of our ability," Carmouche said. "We brought our A game and were hitting them in the mouth. We got physical with them."
The game is a strong start for a Manvel team with goals of a championship run.
"It was really important. All week we were preaching about coming out," Carmouche said. "We knew they were going to be physical, but we said we have some dogs on the team and we're going to be more physical. So we went out there and played like we know we could."
Carmouche has already attracted offers from Arkansas and Houston, and Texas has let him know they are keeping a close eye on him after a strong camp performance in Austin.
It is still early in the process, and at this time he is not ready to name any leaders.
"Not really, I'm just keeping my options open," Carmouche said.
While he is keeping his options open, Carmouche does know what he is looking for in a college program.
"I'm looking for good academics, a team that competes for a championship every single year, and a team that puts linebackers in the NFL," Carmouche said.
He also has one coach with which he has already established a strong bond.
"I really like coach Shannon. He's a real cool dude. When I was up there at camp he was a real cool dude and he coached me well. I had good chemistry with him.
The high school season is his focus right not, but over the weekend he plans to attend a few college games.
"I'm going to the UT game this weekend and I might be going to the Baylor game," Carmouche said.
Carmouche and Manvel have another big match-up next week with Galena Park North Shore. Carmouche is currently ranked a 5.5, 3-star outside linebacker.
