Carmack makes his decision

As expected, Palos Verdes (Calif.) two way lineman Jimmie Carmack loved his visit to San Diego State this past weekend, so much so that the all-state lineman announced for the Aztecs while still on his visit.
Carmack, 6-5, 290 pounds had a solid season on both sides of the ball and said he'll start his Aztec career on the defensive line.

"They left it up to me and I prefer defense," Carmack said. "I'm going to start off at DT and they said that's a big need for them so it works out for both of us. I had a great time on the visit and my parents loved it too. I knew going in to the visit I was going to commit to them but it was good to have my parents there and hear that they liked it as much as I did.
"I actually committed Saturday night during dinner. I was talking with my recruiting coach and said I was ready to commit and he had me go and tell Coach Long and that's what I did. He was excited too and I'm definitely happy and relieved to have the decision out of the way.
"The trip to SDSU was my first one and I really liked it there. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are incredible. I got along great with all the players and coaches and it's just a perfect for me."
Carmack chose the Aztecs over offers from New Mexico State and Hawaii.
