Carey down to three

Chesapeake (Va.) Deep Creek running back Antwain Carey returned home from his visit to NC State, and after having a great trip, has narrowed his college choices to three. He will take two trips in January then will make a decision.
“Everything was quite lovely,” he commented. “I got to spend time with the coaches, the players, and the staff around the school.” He was hosted by freshman DB Phillip Hollomon and rated the trip “very high.”

Carey had listed Virginia as one of his top schools, but since the Cavaliers have quit contacting him, he has dropped them from his list. He will visit North Carolina on Jan. 9 and Virginia Tech on Jan. 23, then will decide between his final three candidates. He has four things he will be looking at on his next two visits.
“First the education, then the players, coaches, and what the campus is like,” he said.
Carey stands 6-foot-0, weighs 205 pounds, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds. He is rated the No. 14 prospect in Virginia by Rivals.com.
He maintains a 2.5 GPA, and is working on gaining a qualifying SAT score. He is scheduled to take the exam on Jan. 24.
