Cards or Cats for Donoghue

One prospect that has made Louisville Cardinal fans over the last few weeks is Covington (Ky.) Covington Catholic offensive lineman Mike Donoghue. He gave his pledge to the Cards in October, but has been rethinking it lately and took an official visit to another school this weekend.
“I had a really good time this past weekend,” Donoghue said. “I am going to take my visit to Louisville in two weeks and make a final decision after that. I’ve just been rethinking my commitment to Louisville lately and want to make 100 percent sure it was the right decision.”

So what are the odds that the Cardinals can hang onto the 6-foot-2, 298-pound big man?
“Right now I think that I will probably end up sticking with Louisville,” Donoghue said. “I just want to see how my visit goes there in two weeks so that I can compare it with my visit to Kentucky. After that I will have a final decision, but as of right now I’m still committed to Louisville.”
Donoghue, who runs the 40-yard dash in 5.18 seconds, has a 340-pound bench press and 540-pound squat, is ranked as the No. 10 player in the Bluegrass State by Rivals.com.
