By now it's public knowledge that Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township wide receiver DeVante Waugh holds an offer from Louisville.
While Waugh does not expect that he will make a decision at any point in the near future the Cards have to feel good about their chances with the 6-foot, 165-pound wide receiver.
Louisville extended an offer to Waugh just less than a month ago, and needless to say, he was excited to get that first scholarship.
"I'm pretty interested in them," Waugh explained. "A friend of my family went there and played basketball there. He said it was pretty fun."
Waugh is referring to Nate Johnson, who played basketball for the Cardinals under head coach Denny Crum from 1996-2000.
While those ties, and the offer, might give Louisville an early upper hand Waugh is intent on giving other schools a shot.
He has been in contact with Nebraska, Boston College, Virginia, Cincinnati, Maryland, Pittsburgh and Missouri. Waugh doesn't know what his schedule will look like for the next few months, but he already knows that he has one difficult decision ahead of him.
"I know I'm supposed to be going between North Carolina and Maryland, I think on April 10. I think that's for a practice or a spring game."
