Wide receiver Wayne Capers of Bridgeville (Pa.) Chartiers Valley has been holding multiple offers for several months, but as we head towards 2012, only one school is standing out at this time. With his football season complete, Capers is preparing for his basketball season, and also dealing with his recruiting process.
"Recruiting is pretty slow right now," said Capers. "Nothing is really happening. Pitt is the only one that stuck around."
Capers, 6-foot-1 and 200-pounds, has held offers from Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Penn State, Temple and Toledo, but has only been able to visit Pittsburgh this fall.
"I went to some games, but nothing official though," said Capers. "I haven't talked to them about an official yet."
With the Panthers being local and actively recruiting him since the new coaching staff arrived, Capers is very familiar with the program.
"I mean it's a hard working group and a high tempo squad where everyone is excited to be where they are," said Capers, who mentioned what he hopes to find in a program. "I'm looking for a team that is a family and coaches that have excitement and get pumped up for games."
On the field, Capers' senior season ended quicker than expected.
"We lost in the first round of the playoffs," said Capers. "I'm glad I finished healthy and we had a good year. I think I'm bigger and stronger than last season."
While dealing with his recruiting process, Capers is also preparing for his senior basketball season.
