Capella planning SEC visit

Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure plays on Thursday night so Nick Capella is free this weekend to travel and he's headed East to see a school that's been diligently recruiting him.
The 6-foot-5 offensive tackle in the 2015 class has been talking with Vanderbilt and he's excited to head to Nashville to see exactly what the program is about this weekend. No offer has come yet but the Commodores sound highly interested in recruiting him.

"They're just talking," Capella said. "Their recruiting coach and their quarterbacks coach, coach (Ricky) Rahne, have sent letters to my coach and to my parents.
"I had an opening because we play on Thursday next week against Westlake so my dad said I'm missing school on Friday and we're going to go see what Vanderbilt is like. They're playing Missouri so it should be exciting."
Many Pac-12 programs and others are getting involved with Capella, who dominated at left tackle in a loss to Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany, but the Vanderbilt interest was definitely surprising.
"I was completely caught off-guard," Capella said.
"I've always known about Vanderbilt and they've been good. Then they hit me up and it's the most random school ever. I'm super pumped. I try to be an academic and it's SEC football so that's big."
UCLA, Arizona State and Oregon are showing interest in Capella, who said he could also visit Alabama later this month with St. Bonaventure quarterback Ricky Town, who's committed to the Crimson Tide.
Town has been hyping up Capella to the Alabama coaching staff so he's hopeful they could get interested if he visits Tuscaloosa.
"That would be awesome," Capella said.
