Canty has the goods

Detroit Southeastern receiver Demitri Canty was one of the top players in inner-city Detroit this season. His stats of 50 catches for 812 yards and 14 touchdowns helped him earn all-metro honors. But for some reason the college coaches aren't showing a lot of interest at this point.
"I think I have the goods," Canty, who is 5-foot-11 and 193 pounds, said.

So does his coach.
"He's our leader, and when we needed something, we got it from him," Southwestern coach Donshell English said.
Canty now needs a scholarship offer. He said his coach has been handling most of the recruiting process for him, but he is not aware of any scholarship offers and hasn't talked to any college coaches in a few weeks.
"I think there are a few things I need to do before I'm ready for the next level," Canty said. "I'd like to get faster. I've worked hard on my blocking. I think I'm a good blocker now compared to last year."
The coaches at Detroit Crockett were told by the Southeastern coaching staff that Canty had an offer on the table from Cincinnati, but the two-star receiver was unawre of the Bearcats' interest.
