Cantrell to visit Cyclones in December

Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Washington linebacker Maurice Cantrell has taken one official visit, and has a second lined up.
“Maurice took a visit to Colorado earlier this month,” Washington coach Paul James said. “He told me he had a real good time on the visit. But, he’s no where near a decision. He’s got a visit lined up with Iowa State for the second weekend of December.”

The Buffaloes and Cyclones are the only two schools to have extended an offer at this point.
“There are a couple more schools that might come along with an offer before long,” James said. “He’s not deciding yet. I think he’ll probably have a decision sometime in December after his visits.”
Cantrell has lined up in the offensive backfield and has carried the ball some for the Washington offense, racking up 299 yards on the ground. But, it won’t be carrying the ball that gets Cantrell on the field in college.
“He is our leading tackler,” James said of his 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker. “He has 66 tackles and he’s always around the ball.”
